[12/19/2011] - Union Meeting - Time Change effective Jan. 6, 2012 will revert back to the 8:00 pm Start Time more

Medical Gas Certification Class
[12/13/2011] - We will begin a Medical Gas Certification Class on Tuesday, January 31st through Thursday, March 1st on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm - 9:30pm.  You MUST attend all classes.  There will be a Med Gas Braze Practice Test on Saturday, February 18th and a Medical Gas Braze Test on Saturday, March 3rd.  (These times will be discussed in class.)  You must call the Technology Center to register.  Open to any UA member. more

Qualified Rigger/Signal Person
[9/7/2011] - We will be holding qualified rigger/signal person training classes on the following Saturdays: January 21st, February 18th.  The class will be an eight hour class from 7:30am - 3:30pm, Room 201. Lunch will be provided. This class will include review of crane signals, crane limitations, qualified person requirements, signaling practice scenarios, inspections of rigging before use, hitch configuration, capacities, basic knots, and recognizing association hazard. Qualified Rigger/Signal Person Cards will be issued after course completion. Meets OSHA 29 CFR Part 1926.1430 requirements. (This course is open to any UA member with the exception of first year apprentices.) You MUST call the Technology Center to register. more

UPMC ICRA 8 Awareness Seminar
[9/7/2011] - We will be holding Infections Control Risk Assessment Classes on the following days: Monday and Wednesday evening, February 13th and February 15th ~ 5:30pm - 9:00pm ~ (You must attend BOTH evenings) ~ Steamfitters Technology Center Room 204, Instructor Sean George ~ This course will be a requirement for any tradesman working in a UPMC facility. It will instruct the tradesman how to recognize and minimize potential life threatening infection sources to patients through proper work habits. This class is open to any UA Member. Class space is limited and you must pre-register by calling the Steamfitters Technology Center. more

Auto CAD Classes
[8/31/2011] - We will be offering an AutoCAD class beginning January 9th on Mondays and Wednesdays.  The class will begin at 6:00pm the first night, however as a class you will decide on a permanent start time that works well for everyone.  Please call the Technology Center to register.  This class is open to any UA member.  more

Our Apprentices go through a rigorous 5-year training program on their way to becoming experienced journeyperson, and the Training for our members does not end there. We continue to provide upgrade training on the latest of materials and methods so that there is no project too complex or small.  Our goal is to insure the job is done right the first time, on budget and on time!
